Even though I don't live somewhere picturesque like New York, Christmastime still provides a great opportunity to take a girl out on a date for something different. Even though as a local you try to avoid the strip like the plague, there is a certain ambiance around the holiday season that is almost magical.

We started off with a balcony lunch at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. They have plenty of heat lamps so sitting outside isn't a problem, and from the patio you get a great view of the Bellagio fountains, which as a local I never actually stop to appreciate... Mon Ami Gabi like always was amazing, it is by far my favorite (affordable) restaurant on the strip.

After lunch we went to the Bellagio to check out the christmas setup at the conservatory. It's pretty amazing how they use flowers to build sculptures, as well as all the poinsettas and christmas trees and all that. The girl I brought loved it, and you could tell the spirit was making her feel intimate, we held hands the whole time and had tourists take photos of us. I've always felt planting the seed is important... even though this particular girl was going home to family tonight, I know that when I see her in a couple of days she will be all over me as I've already proven myself to be thoughtful and sensitive (and not a big douchebag).

After the Bellagio we took a quick stroll around Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood, to see if there were any good sales yet. We did duck into Victorias Secret and looked at a few sexy pieces of lingerie: (no she didn't try anything on for me, but it does prove that she is sexually open like that). We circled back to the car and I dropped her off at her place (not without getting a nice kiss first), and went home to enjoy a Christmas Eve alone with a bottle of scotch and season 4 of Dexter on my TiVo.

Twas a pretty good day as far as they go!
Introduction From A Vegas Local

Just wanted to introduce myself, so you know a little bit about who is writing this blog. I was born and raised in Henderson, where I lived all the way up until I finished high school (I went to Green Valley High). When we both graduated, my high school sweetheart and I moved in together in a little apartment on north Rainbow, where we lived for a few years... But more about that later.

I work as a blackjack dealer at the Wynn. I love my job and the tips are awesome. I originally started graveyard shift at Casino Royale, but worked my way up, until now where I get to deal weekends (although it doesn't really matter as we pool are tips and get paid out at the end of the week anyway).

Anyway, enough about work, and back to my sweetheart, aka. The Ex Girlfriend. I loved dealing cards, she went to college... Turns out she was more into the artsy literature type of guy than a gambler who likes cars and loud music. After six months of cheating on me, she finally broke the news that she wasn't happy with me, and left.

My world was upside down for a few months... At 23 I hadn't really known an adult life without her, and I went through a real rough patch...

...no more though. A buddy and I rented a house in Summerlin together with a pool, and for the last few months we've been living it up. That's kind of why I started this blog, to give guys like me some inspiration that there is a light at the end of the tunnel if you ever suffer a bad breakup like I did. I know people hate to hear about "plenty of fish in the sea", but it's true, and this blog will prove it.

I hope you enjoy.
